When writing an Email make sure you add a subject so the readers know what they are going to read, when the reader reads your email they might want you to make them feel welcome do make sure you always add a positive greeting.

When you write an email keep to the subject or else the reader might get bored and just go check their other emails so make sure you keep to the subject, While writing make sure to add somethings that are positive and helpful to make sure the reader wants to keep reading, When you’re finished writing your email make sure you proofread it for any mistakes and sign off so they know its the end of the email.

Swimming Achievements

The Beginning

In the very, very beginning I hated swimming it was my nightmare mostly because im scared of drowning but not of the water it was just the fact that if i cant breath because my lungs are filled with liquid but thats not the only factor the other main important thing is the ocean has creatures that no one knows about. I wanted to be better but i didn’t feel like committing to swimming because i was lazy so i made the excuse that i would do it “when im older”

Almost drowning … 5 times

When i didnt know how to swim i was scared but i dove in i was swimming for the first time… until i started sinking, panicking i gasped for air fortunately my brothers attention drew to me because i caused a ruckus without a thought he dived in saving me.
The second time i tried to swim and it failed miserably was when i was over at a friends house he has a pool and invited for us to go swimming so we got our stuff and i was nervous because i told them i knew how to swim. when we got there i had some fun until my floatie slid over me and i started to drown but once again my brother was there. the 3rd time was not really special i drowned anciently in those public swimming places and so was the 4th and the 5th but in all of those i was saved by my brother.

School swimming

When the pool of the school was announced that it would be done on Monday i didn’t care because i wasn’t going well i didnt wanna go but i decided to take a risk and try it out. after the second lesson i was already loving the swimming school session it was so fun and i even learned how to float which was a big achievement i felt proud.

Conclusion

In this short conclusion i would like to mention that everyone is so supportive and i love swimming now.

Nz Sculpture OnShore

Today we went on a trip to Nz Sculpture to see some beautiful art work and we just looked around and there were so many beautiful artwork , and we had a challenge to choose our favorite work of art.

My favorite one is

Pyralis

Made by Matt Hughes

Pyralis signifies the strength necessary to thrive from darkness, emerging stronger and focused than ever while having the grace and wisdom to move forward with absolute humility.

How to deal with stress.

Introduction.

When you enter the caravan it brings out a calming sensation. I sat down and we did a mini activity, we used a clipboard and wrote down what we feel what we touch, what we see and what we hear.
———————————————————————————————————————-
Learning about the human organs

After the clipboard game we took a little break and played a mini game, in the mini game we had to shape and shift our hands in different ways and had to tap we tried beating puriri (the class next to our class) score. After our little mini game we sat down on the floor moreover the projectors were projecting a simulation of the average human body we got to learn about the heart first. The heart pumps blood that makes you stay alive it also is one of the most vital organ. next we learned about the digestive system which helps you digest and break down protein to keep your blood healthy. The final organ is the most complex organ in your body, its your brain, your brain has a frontal lobe that helps you think stuff through and helps you with reasonable thinking but on the other side there is the temporal lobe that controls you emotions for example: if your feeling angry or ticket off and someone pushes you to your limit and you finally burst than you say something that you didn’t mean. that is your temporal lobe taking over your frontal lobe.

———————————————————————————————————————–

Card Game

Mrs grace (the life education teacher) handed out cards and we all put our cards on the wall moreover that wall had a sticker and we had to put our cards under that sticker that was used the card i got was “something that makes me smile” and i put it under the card it was supposed to go to.

——————————————————————————————————————–
Harold the giraffe

Harold the giraffe is like the puppet mascot and Harold talked to us and told us to share all the info we learned. Harold that told a joke and surprisingly everyone laughed the joke was “Why are people friends with giraffes because they have someone to look up too.”

——————————————————————————————————————-
Conclusion
It was fun to learn about human organs and all the cool facts about it. I learned how my brain works, i learned about how my emotions work and most of all i was happy to be there that concludes everything i am really exited about the upcoming life education lessons.

Sculpture on the shore trip.

Kia ora bloggers!

Our trip to the sculptures on the shore was amazing, we watched and touched some beautiful structures that were made by some pro artists. There were some tiny arts that were expensive and cheap but there were also some gigantic structures like the bunker and the house that was covered with red flowers (something like that)

See you later (^_^)

Life Education with Harold

Kia ora bloggers,

Today, on the 13th of October, my class and I had a session with Grace & Harold called ‘Life Education’. We learnt many things such as what the inside of our body looks like, what stress may look like, sound like and feel like, ways to relieve stress and what may cause stress.

Personally what stood out for me were the ways you can conquer stress peacefully without hurting you or the people around you. There are many ways to do so such as taking deep breathes in and out which sends a message to your brain to calm down and relax, eating comfort foods for example a bowl of warm oatmeal and keeping yourself hydrated with water. This helps with calming the brain down and keeping you cool. Another stress relief is to do things that make you happy and smile which will distract the brain from being stressed because when you’re stressed you can feel many things like nausea, headaches, stomach aches and many more which is not good for you. So for me, I like to watch movies, eat a lot of food and spend time with my family because that is what makes me the happiest and my stress levels low.

What things do you do to relieve your stress?

How To Cope With Stress! (Harold’s Class)

Hello, goodmorning, goodafternoon and goodnight readers! Today we ventured into the land of stress in harold’s class. We learnt about what causes stress, what happens when you are stressed and finally good ways to deal with stress. First we put down what we already knew/thought about what stress is by writing it down on clipboards. We wrote on 2 clipboards in a group of 5, the 2 clipboards asked us what did stress sound like and what does stress feel like? Then we learnt about organs. First we learnt about the heart and what it does. We learnt that the heart pumps blood and oxygen/red bloodcells to different parts of the body. Next we learnt about the digestive system and the body parts in it. Finally we learnt about the brain. We learnt about the frontal lobe and the limbic system. We learnt that the frontal lobe controls your thoughts and is a leading factor in your problem solving and everyday thought processes. Then we found out about the limbic system and how it can affect the frontal lobe. When you feel stressed your frontal lobe is negatively affected. Your thought process is slowed down and as a result you usually end up making bad decisions. Then once that was finished we streched and got into a fun game to let the information we were just given to set into our brains. It was a hand cooardination game that we utterly failed in. Finally we learnt about a few ways to cope with stress! My personal favourites were. Play your favorite game, take a drink of water and finally listen to some music. I personally like to mix both listening to music and playing games together to make it more relaxing. If you are feeling stressed you can try harold’s favourite coping method. Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 tings you can hear, 2 things you can smell. When you are finished you will realize that you feel more relaxed because you were able to take your mind off of what was stressing you. I hope this helps and I’ll see you the next time I blog! and with that, Goodbye, goodmorning, goodafternoon and goodnight readers!

The legend of the Tokamotu

Kia ora bloggers, so sorry for the late posts this week, during the week for reading and writing  we were learning to narrate a story about what happened to the almighty Tokamotu. We had to use descriptive words, more detail and a sequence of evidence. After the writing we had to make an animation about the Tokamotu. Here is my animation.

What I found challenging was duplicating slides it had to take me days to do this work and now I am finished I did 171 slides.I enjoyed writing about the legend of the Tokamotu.

Ambassodors Meeting!

Malo e lelei fellow bloggers!

Today I have been given the opportunity to blog about this week’s Ako Hiko Ambassadors Meeting. In this meeting we discussed the previous Film Festival Event that occurred on Wednesday the 18th of October at the St Lukes Event Cinemas, the film festival contained 24 different films to be displayed on the big screen. In the meeting we conversed about ‘What went well?’ in the cinemas, ‘What didn’t’, and ‘What we could do next time’. Some of the things we agreed that went well was that we were able to get free Popcorn/Choc Top, and the general enjoyment of being able to have an opportunity to come to an event like that. What we could improve is the glitching of the cinema screens, no titles, longer pauses to know when the movie is transitioning to another. We thought the loud squealing of some spectators were something that wasn’t very enjoyable. Overall the Event was rather fun and unexpected. We also conversed about Students who we suggest would be potential Ambassadors for next year. That’s all!

Thank you for reading about Todays Ambassadors Meeting!
